SOSSUSVLEI LODGE

Sossusvlei Lodge is the best lodge by far near Sesriem and Sossusvlei in Namibia. Nearby Sossusvlei Lodge is our sister camp, the Sossusvlei Desert Camp which is the only self-catering accommodation at Sesriem in Namibia. Other lodges in and around Sossusvlei which you might want to visit include Solitaire and Namib Desert Lodge to the north. Sossusvlei Dune Lodge is the only accommodation at Sesriem within the Sossusvlei Park. South of Sossusvlei is Desert Homestead a lodge famous for their horses, and Betesda Lodge - a lodge with strong Christian religious principles.

Sossusvlei is clearly not the only destination in Namibia that you would like to visit. In order to book lodges anywhere in Namibia you can simply visit Temba or Temba Safari. From Sossusvlei you can drive south via Helmeringhausen to Luderitz where accommodation such as Pension Zur Waterkant or the Nest Hotel look forward to welcoming you .

If you drive south from Sossusvlei Lodge you will find some lovely lodges such as Grunau Country House near Grunau between Sossusvlei Desert Camp and the border, 5 hours drive from Sossusvlei Lodge. Two other lodges in this areaa is the more upmarket Grunau Country House and self-catering accommodation at Orange River Lodge at Noordoewer. Three hours from Sossuvlei Lodge is the Fishriver Canyon and Ai Ais. The CAÑON Lodge or Canyon Lodge is the preferred lodge in this area but you can also consider the CAÑON Road Lodge which is a cheaper alternative and nearer to Sossusvlei Lodge.

Swakopmund is Namibia's premier coastal resort and here you can book some of the best lodges and hotels such as as The Stiltz and the Hotel Pension Rapmund. Allow three hours from Sossusvlei Lodge to Swakopmund.

Windhoek is the capital city of Namibia and 5 hours drive from Sossusvlei Lodge. We offer a variety of accommodation in Windhoek Namibia. The best accommodation is the five star Windhoek Country Club and the four star Windhoek Safari Hotel which is 5 hours drive from Sossusvlei Lodge in Namibia.

East of Windhoek some 7 hours from Sossusvlei Lodge is the Gobabis district. Just a km or two from Gobabis is Goba Lodge a very comfortable lodge with all facilities. Nearer to the border is Zelda Guestfarm.

Along the Skeleton Coast a mere 4 hours from Sossusvlei Lodge is Cape Cross Lodge, a luxurious destination at the seal colony north of Henties Bay.

Damaraland is to the north of Sossusvlei in Namibia. Here you can book some excellent lodges such as Palmwag, Twyfelfontein Country Lodge, Ugab Terrace Lodge and Vingerklip Lodge. Damaraland is similar to Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert in Namibia, but in Damaraland there is more vegetation than at Sossusvlei.

Together with Sossusvlei, Etosha National Park is Namibia's best known tourism destination. At Etosha you can stay in luxury accommodation such as Okaukuejo, Halali, Namutoni and Mokoti Lodge.

In the far north of Namiba lies Rundu, a fast growing town with two excellent lodges. Just west of Rundu is Hakusembe River Lodge and east is Kaisosi River Lodge, a family destination. Allow two days to drive from Sossusvlei Desert Camp to Rundu. Rundu is offen called the gateway to the Caprivi.

The Caprivi is a narrow strip in the far north east of Namibia. The sub-tropical Caprivi forms a very sharp contrast with the Namib Desert near Sossusvlei. At Ngepi Camp and Popa Falls which is three days drive from Sossusvlei, Temba offers excellent lodges on the banks of the Kavango River. Further east are some excellent lodges, such as Mazambala Island Lodge a luxury and affordable lodge on an island in the Kwando River, and the famous Kwando Camp in the same area. Allow three days to drive from Sossusvlei Lodge to the Kwando River area.
